Job Title: Plaintiff Personal Injury Legal Assistant

Location: TonaLaw – Islip, NY

Salary begins at $45,000.00 with potential adjustments based on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the firm’s legal calendar , including scheduling court appearances, motions, depositions, and client meetings
• Confirm court appearances and ensure compliance with court part rules
• Process and distribute daily mail (25+ pieces per day)
• Assist attorneys and paralegals with case-related tasks
• Make follow-up calls to clients and insurance companies to gather case information
• Serve as the point of contact for clients, insurance carriers, and outside counsel
• Schedule depositions, hearings, and other case-related events , coordinating with external parties
• Identify and resolve scheduling conflicts in collaboration with attorneys and staff
• Circulate updates and changes to schedules efficiently
• Assist with initial phone inquiries from potential clients
• Conduct in-person case intakes
• Draft post-settlement closing documents
• Manage liens and request necessary documentation

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a plaintiff personal injury law firm
• Strong calendar management and organizational skills
• Ability to work in a high-volume, high-pressure environment
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and multitasking skills
• SmartAdvocate experience is a plus
• Spanish-speaking ability is a plus
• Strong client communication skills and professional demeanor
• Associate’s degree preferred
