Position Summary

The Steamboat Grand Team is seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Manager to join our banquets team. If you’re ready to step into a management role and help execute amazing events throughout the summer, we want to hear from you!

Essential Duties

  • Act as a highly independent, detail-oriented professional ensuring all event aspects are addressed.
  • Provide superior service to our customers, following Resort Etiquette Guidelines.
  • Review BEOs with the Banquet Manager to ensure preparedness for all functions.
  • Plan, supervise, and coordinate daily banquet operations.
  • Supervise and assist with operations including setting tables, serving, and cleaning.
  • Monitor food and service quality standards.
  • Collaborate with Catering and Sales to plan and evaluate services.
  • Supervise guest counts and ensure accurate billing.
  • Conduct shift meetings and oversee timekeeping.
  • Host site tours and assist guests in venue selection.
  • Develop and implement hiring and training programs.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • 2 years of relevant work history or education.
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent helpful; relevant food service experience is a plus.
  • Prior management experience at Steamboat Ski & Resort Food and Beverage venue is beneficial.
  • Must meet SSRC minimum driving standards and have a current driver’s license.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to maintain positive relationships.
  • Experience with RTP, UKG, and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Basic administrative and organizational skills.
  • Experience with food service administrative functions preferred.

Compensation

The base hourly pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00 per hour plus gratuities . Actual pay may vary based on experience, education, and other factors.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for prolonged periods.
  • Clear communication in English, both written and verbal.
  • Willingness to work both indoor and outdoor events.

Working Conditions

Expect to be exposed to varying weather conditions and moderate noise levels while performing your duties.
