The Web Developer/Programmer Intern (unpaid) will assist in designing, coding, and modifying websites, from layout to function, according to client specifications. This role is ideal for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in web development and design. The ideal candidate will be creative, detail-oriented, and eager to learn. You will work closely with our development team to create visually appealing sites that feature user-friendly design and clear navigation. This is a hands-on internship where your problem-solving skills and passion for learning will be your most valuable assets. ExploreMyPC Internship Program (EIP) Details Students accepted into the ExploreMyPC Internship Program (EIP) participate in creating professional websites and experiences and have the opportunity to take advantage of learning and development websites and used the systems that ExploreMyPC offers. This includes 1:1 mentorship, custom learning and development sessions, and other programs focusing on startup and social good innovation. We recognize that diversity and inclusion are critical components of what we do, so we ensure these topics are integrated throughout the program. If accepted, all internship participants are given a lot of responsibility and the opportunity to provide a meaningful contribution to their teams. Responsibilities are assigned to interns at the start of the program and continuously throughout their engagement. Key Responsibilities Lead the creation of site content and features to continually improve the website user experience and support the organization’s goals and strategies. Manage the website’s content, including writing new content, creating new pages and functionality, implementing/maintaining/sunsetting plugins and bespoke code solutions, editing and auditing existing content, and removing outdated content Stay up to date with the latest web design and development trends and technologies. Identify ways to improve website UX, identifying and fulfilling opportunities for website improvement based on user feedback and performance metrics Identify and troubleshoot website technical issues. Ensure website functionality and perform software updates. Update website coding frequently as needed. Monitor, assess, and report on website performance. Monitor site analytics and develop monitoring dashboards for performance tracking. Work closely with internal teams to advise on Web Analytics data use & strategy, and content development Increase traffic and engagement to the website. Apply SEO and SEM best practices and strategies Develop scripts and code centered on digital attribution, user tracking and tag management. Assist with social media campaigns and other marketing efforts. Manage pay-per-click and search engine optimization campaigns Facilitate website integrations with Nation Builder / CRM platforms. Ensure domain registration and hosting are current Monitor for website security breaches and respond to them as needed Complete tests to ensure website efficiency and quality Evaluate competitors’ websites, and follow industry best practices Required Skills Internships are open to current students enrolled at a university. Must commit to at least 3 months in the internship program. Basic understanding of web design principles. Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
