Job Title: Test Engineer

Location: Aurora, IL

Salary: $75,000-90,000

LHH Recruitment Solutions is currently seeking a Test Engineer to join our client's organization in the Aurora, IL area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, execute, and document effective test plans and procedures.
  • Define clear goals for all aspects of a product test and develop the right sequence of steps for proper execution.
  • Analyze and document test results for products and components during pre and post development.
  • Develop, modify, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures to ensure repeatable and reproducible test methods/results.
  • Propose, evaluate, and assess solutions to prevent problem recurrence.
  • Meet with the product development team to clearly define product testing parameters/procedures.
  • Execute test plans and tasks involving various electrical and environmental tests in accordance with industry and/or internal specifications.
  • Troubleshoot, recreate performance issues/bugs, and assist in root cause analysis.
  • Assist engineers in creating practical demonstrations of proposed solutions.
  • Coordinate and perform tests at the quality control stage of the manufacturing process.
  • Perform QC to ensure that selected products and components meet the required standards.
  • Develop ongoing quality control testing procedures to be incorporated into the regular production process.
  • Work closely with management to ensure efficient and timely project deliverables.
  • Help manage Engineering Change Notifications as needed.
  • Assist design engineers in creating and updating work instructions, incoming/outgoing inspections, and other QA documentation.
  • Perform various electrical/mechanical/environmental tests including, but not limited to: Circuit board, Insulation Resistance / Dielectric Withstanding Voltage, Corrosion testing, Salt Spray Test, Dust & Water Ingress, Temperature and Relative Humidity.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Engineering Science, or Computer Science.
  • 5+ years’ work experience as a Test Engineer.
  • Proficient with general electronic test equipment (i.e. oscilloscopes, power supplies, multimeters, data acquisition systems, etc.).
  • Experience testing electrical interconnect systems, including data analysis, and troubleshooting to aid in root cause failure analysis.
  • Extensive knowledge of engineering and testing procedures, various systems, backend programming, and testing electrical interconnect systems.
  • Mechanical, Electrical, and Software aptitude focused on test, qualification, and QA.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills to reduce complex problems into executable tasks.
  • Good interpersonal skills to work with others effectively.
  • Possess critical thinking and analytical ability to develop conclusions from complex data.
  • High-level technical writing skills.
  • Ability to discuss product flaws in a constructive and positive manner.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
