Job Description

As a Public Relations Manager at MGM Resorts, you will play a key role in establishing and maintaining the company’s presence among consumer media while generating compelling content to engage audiences. You will oversee project development and implementation, facilitate media interaction, develop proactive pitches, and cultivate strong media relationships. This role focuses on promoting various areas of the business, including entertainment and sports, nightlife, gaming, resorts, and food & beverage, while maintaining critical partnerships with both internal stakeholders and external collaborators. Develop and maintain relationships with media at local, regional, national, and international levels to secure editorial coverage. Organize and execute media activations such as press conferences, red carpets, media centers, broadcast interviews, and social influencer engagement. Work closely with external partners and event promoters to generate publicity and drive ticket sales for events and shows. Proactively pitch property amenities by writing and developing story ideas, coordinating property visits, and evaluating media requests. Implement strategic public relations plans, media events, and announcements that align with business objectives. Oversee on-site filming for television shows, feature films, news programs, and media visits. Draft and distribute press releases, media listings, and talking points while preparing internal representatives for interviews. Attend internal and external meetings with marketing, social media, and operations teams to align on content and PR strategies. Manage and guide specialists and coordinators, overseeing workloads and setting priorities. Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies to execute PR initiatives effectively. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Communications, or a related field, with 7+ years of experience in these areas. Proven ability to develop and execute successful PR campaigns, strong writing, communication, and leadership skills are required. Experience in PR for entertainment, sports, hospitality, travel, or tourism brands is preferred. Knowledge of media trends, new media applications, and the Las Vegas market is a plus. Ability to multitask, stay organized, and handle high-stress situations is necessary. Willingness to work flexible hours including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays, and maintain a professional appearance according to MGM Resorts standards is expected.
