This Opportunity WSP is currently initiating a search for On Call Archaeology Field Technicians with 7+ years of experience for an exciting project in Eastern Nevada during the summer and fall of 2025. Join our Earth & Environment Cultural Resource Team and explore opportunities to grow within a dynamic organization that addresses our client’s cultural resource challenges. WSP seeks to fill multiple hourly, project-based positions. The heritage resource specialist will collaborate with senior project managers, archaeologists, architectural historians, and environmental staff to strengthen client relationships and enhance WSP’s reputation in the environmental and engineering sectors. Compensation will be based on credentials and experience. Successful candidates will work across the West, primarily in Nevada, with potential future opportunities in neighboring states. Responsibilities include conducting fieldwork, supporting digital data collection, and assisting in the preparation of reports, including state IMACS forms. Experience with digital data collection software and hardware is required; familiarity with western US archaeology is preferred but not mandatory. Your Impact Participation in Class I-Class III assessments and providing avoidance recommendations Supporting heritage/cultural resource investigations compliant with NEPA, NHPA, NAGPRA, and other relevant laws Who You Are Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED 0-1 years of experience in cultural resources in field, office, or lab settings Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills Excellent communication skills Knowledge of cultural resources and environmental regulations Understanding of North American archaeology Proficiency with SharePoint and Microsoft Office Familiarity with NHPA, ARPA, NAGPRA, and state laws Ability to perform pedestrian surveys, lift up to 25 lbs, and work in high-desert conditions Experience identifying archaeological materials from prehistoric and historic sites Willingness to camp and travel for 10-day rotations to remote locations Ability to pass a Fit for Duty Exam and WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening Preferred Qualifications B.A./B.S. in Anthropology, Archaeology, History, or related field Previous experience in the western US Experience with large-scale terrestrial surveys Specific fieldwork experience in Nevada WSP Benefits include comprehensive health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, retirement plans, paid leave, and more.
