ESI is now hiring a Certified K-8 School Guidance Counselor in the Coral Gables, FL area.

POSITION SUMMARY:

ESI is seeking a Certified K-8 School Guidance Counselor who performs administrative work in the academic operational area of the organization and develops a comprehensive counseling program.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master’s Degree from accredited college or university in Guidance and Counseling or School Counseling required.
• Possession of a Florida Educator Certification in School Counseling K-12 or Statement of Status of Eligibility showing eligible status required.
• ESE and Gifted endorsements preferred.
• Experience in a public-school setting or counseling environment preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language fluently.
• Ability to walk, stand, stoop, bend, climb, crawl, push a cart, or lift during the entire shift.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, including small packages and supplies.
• Ability to pass Level 2 background check.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develops and implements a comprehensive counseling program that aligns with state guidelines.
• Plans and implements the counseling program to address the academic, career, and personal/social needs of every student.
• Coordinates the delivery of an annual needs assessment for the counseling program.
• Delivers the four program components: the counseling curriculum, individual student planning, responsive services, and system support.
• Provides short-term individual and group counseling opportunities for students to promote school success, personal growth, self-understanding, communication, problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Provide guidance on course selection, academic policies, and graduation requirements.
• Assist students in identifying and overcoming academic challenges, such as time management, study skills, and test anxiety.
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to coordinate support services and resources for students.
• Conduct workshops and seminars on topics related to academic success, career planning, and personal development.
• Maintain accurate records of student interactions and progress towards academic goals.
• Stay informed about educational trends, academic programs, and career opportunities to better support student needs.
• Participate in professional development activities to enhance counseling skills and knowledge.
• Any other duties as assigned.
