Job Description
Position Overview:
Provides comprehensive Human Resources support to business leaders to integrate human resources concepts and elements into the larger business strategy and operational plans. Provides solutions, working in collaboration with the Human Resources VP and HR team regarding organization design, change management, training and development, talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, employee and labor relations, and other Human Resources programs and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Provides active HR support to the business, becomes the HR point of contact for the employees within the client areas through extensive engagement with businesses and day-to-day connections with the employees.
Partners with the Leaders and business managers to understand ongoing HR needs, anticipate them and provide timely solutions on Human Resources matters.
Develops and maintains a strong business partnership with operations teams, serving as an employee advocate, cultural ambassador, subject matter expert, innovator and consultant.
Provides consultation to management in organizational effectiveness, developmental and succession planning to optimize commitment and performance in a changing business environment.
Develop, manage and implement Human Resources policies, procedures, practices and programs for WAPA Media, including the interpretation of all policies and procedures for managers and all employees.
Ensures that policies are reviewed and communicated to all employees and that the policies follow applicable Federal and local laws and regulatory requirements, as well as WAPA Media guidelines.
Provides support and counsel to management on performance management and employee relations issues.
Partners with the business to ensure all new initiatives and projects are implemented in alignment with applicable regulations, policies and staff relations perspectives.
Identifies problems and uses independent judgment in resolving them by interpreting policies accurately and weighting alternative approaches.
Participates in talent acquisition processes, making recommendations to managers on hiring decisions as needed.
Performs exit interviews and monitors for trends and issues that require intervention.
Develop and implement Compensation and Benefits initiatives to maintain competitive and equitable compensation, as well as adequate benefits programs, enabling the organization to attract, engage and retain the talent it needs. Continually innovates and implements best practices of Human Resources.
Develops and implements appropriate communication strategies, processes and interventions on an ongoing basis.
Ensures that all occupational safety programs are provided to employees in compliance with OSHA and State Insurance Fund regulations, promoting a secure and healthy work environment. Ensures consistent compliance to all federal, state and city employment and labor laws.
Minimum Requirements:
Education:
BS/BA Degree: Human Resources, Management, Industrial Psychology, Organizational Development, Business Administration or related field preferred.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate effectively in both English and Spanish with other business departments, guests, vendors and consultants. Ability to effectively deal with challenging situations and with people’s requests, while demonstrating a consistent level of professionalism.
