Rooted School Indy @ Eastern Star is accepting applications for High School Basketball Coach. . The High School Basketball Coach will report to the Athletic Director, Assistant School Leader, and the Executive Director.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & ABILITIES:

Thorough knowledge of the sport and its strategies and techniques Ability to motivate, teach and recruit qualified student-athletes Ability to effectively implement school policy & maintain athletic department standards Ability to pass a background check High School Diploma or GED Some youth coaching experience preferred. Requirements ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Lead or assist in organizing, preparing, and conducting individual and team practices, training, and competitions three to five (3-5) afternoons / evenings per week Assist in recruiting potential student-athletes Provide guidance, mentorship, and general assistance according to the needs of the student-athlete Assist in promoting and maintaining student-athlete academic success - including supervision of team study sessions Assist in the planning and implementation of team fundraising strategies Assist with some team transportation responsibilities, as needed Additional standard coaching and team leadership responsibilities, as needed NOTE: All Middle School Head Coaches will provide some Assistant Coach support to High School counterparts. EXPECTATIONS: Successfully execute Essential Job Functions "Lead by example" in the aspects of punctuality, professionalism, accountability, credibility, viability, and safety. Successfully promote the school mission "to provide our students personal pathways to financial freedom". Successfully promote the Rooted Royals Athletics Department's corresponding mission to refine a skillset and an aptitude for teamwork and sportsmanship to increase opportunities for Rooted School Indy scholars. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Stand for extended periods of time. Ability to drive. Frequently lift and carry as much as 50(+) pounds. Regularly perform physical activities common to the sport.
