About the Role

Are you ready to make a difference in emergency response? As a Dispatcher at Acadian Companies, you will be at the heart of our operations, receiving and dispatching both emergency and non-emergency requests for ground and air ambulance services. Your role is crucial in ensuring that help reaches those in need swiftly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist ground and air resources for emergency and non-emergency responses.
• Coordinate first responder notifications to fire departments and other agencies as required.
• Receive and input requests for ground and air responses.
• Document daily activities meticulously.
• Provide pre-arrival instructions using Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) protocols.
• Train new Communication Center employees as needed.

What We’re Looking For

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• National and/or State certification as an Emergency Medical Technician is preferred.
• Completion of EMD certification is required.

• Pay attention to detail and accomplish all tasks, no matter how small.
• Exhibit strong personal motivation and ownership of job tasks.
• Demonstrate a sense of urgency in all work performed.

Working Conditions

As a Dispatcher, you will work in a dynamic environment that may include:

• Exposure to wet, humid conditions and moving mechanical parts.
• Occasional work in high or precarious places.
• Interaction with fumes, airborne particles, and various environmental conditions.
• Moderate noise levels typical of a busy office setting.

Physical Demands

This role requires:

• Ability to sit for extended periods while managing calls.
• Occasional walking and standing.
• Use of hands for typing and handling equipment.
• Vision capabilities including color, distance, and close vision.
