Some of what you'll be doing: You will participate in efforts to develop, support, and advance cyber security, including, but not limited to training/user awareness, incident response planning, incident management efforts, disaster recovery, and continuity of operations. You will participate in 24/7 on call support and vacation/sick coverage as needed. You will draft, maintain documentation, track incident support and change management efforts in accordance with organizational best practices. You will assist in the monitoring, maintenance and support operations of the Port's E911 hardware and software systems, including, but not limited to the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) and Records Management (RMS) system(s), integrated ARC Geographic Information System (GIS) components, and numerous application interfaces. You will assist in the support of the Intrado Viper 911 phone system and the WA State ESInet911 Network. You will research and evaluate cyber security and public safety (primarily Criminal Justice Information Services) related technologies and industry leading best practices to enhance policies and procedures related to resilience for continuity of operations and disaster recovery efforts. You will assist with the planning and coordination of technology implementations between the public safety organizations and the technology organizations as well as the coordination between law enforcement and InfoSec to maintain full compliance with the FBI-mandated Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) security policy as administered by the Washington State Patrol (WSP). Who you are: Experienced – You have four (4) years of systems administration, application administration, systems engineering, and/or network engineering experience and two (2) years of experience using and supporting client, peripheral, mobile and/or telephony systems. Desired – We hope you have a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Security, Information Technology, or Management Information Systems. We hope you have certifications for Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) / Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) or a IT and/or Cyber Security Discipline Certification(s) and active Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) Awareness and Certification. Collaborative – You can work collaboratively in cross-departmental coordination, including the ability to understand other groups’ technical needs and collaborate for mutual benefit. You can work closely with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to resolve strategic issues. Technically Skilled – You have working knowledge of Microsoft Suite (MS) Windows Server and Workstation Operating Systems, Active Directory, Group Policy, PowerShell, SSH/BASH, and MS SQL. You are also knowledgeable in hardware and software systems related to CAD and GIS, including integration, implementation, and configuration and understand the interconnected components needed to manage these systems including networking, operating systems, servers, architecture, and telecommunications. What else you need to know: Work Schedule – Your normal work schedule will be Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (40 hours per week). Slightly more flexible start and end times are available in this role. You may be required to work any and all assigned shifts, including weekends and holidays. You may be required to work during emergencies. Work Environment - This work will take place in a hybrid/in-office setting at Management’s discretion. Washington State Residency Requirement – Employees must establish a residence in Washington state within 30 days of their first day of employment and must maintain a residence in Washington State during their employment with the Port of Seattle. If a position is eligible to telework, work performed while teleworking must be performed in Washington State. Overtime Eligible – You are eligible for overtime pay in this role. Stand By - The Cyber Security & Safety Technology Consultant will be on rotational standby shift, eligible for standby pay. They must be available to respond to calls after hours on weekends, and holidays, with some calls requiring onsite reporting. The Consultant will receive $2.50 per hour for standby time and regular overtime rates for time spent solving issues via phone, remote connection (in quarter-hour increments), or onsite (with a two-hour minimum). Security Requirements – As the successful candidate, you must pass a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) background check as well as a criminal history background check with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Your employment will be contingent upon obtaining a Port of Seattle ID badge upon clearance. Security Requirements – You will also be required to obtain a U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) Customs Seal within 30 days of hire. Security Requirements – In this role, you will be required to access Port of Seattle Police Department equipment, office locations, systems and/or vehicles. In compliance with Federal and State laws as the successful candidate, you will be required to pass a Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) criminal history background check.
