Responsibilities:
As an Adjunct Faculty member, you will:
Teach graduate-level courses in the MSN program on a term-to-term basis
Participate in department meetings and collaborate with fellow educators
Support and guide students through their academic journey, ensuring an engaging and supportive learning environment
Contribute to the success of the program by promoting academic excellence and student-centered teaching practices
What You Will Do:
Teaching:
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that motivates students to reach their full potential
Ensure course materials are well-prepared, accurate, and engaging for students
Provide timely feedback on assignments, projects, and tests (within 72 hours)
Hold virtual office hours and respond to student inquiries within 24 hours
Conduct weekly course overviews and encourage student interaction through discussion boards and announcements
Maintain a student-centered approach by offering academic guidance and promoting professional development
Faculty Behaviors:
Adhere to institutional policies and contribute to a respectful, professional environment
Enforce course and university rules as outlined in the academic catalog
Service and Administration:
Track class attendance and report accordingly
Submit accurate grades and records promptly
Communicate with the program director about any course-related concerns
Participate in faculty and committee meetings, contributing to university activities and collaboration
Attend professional development activities and seek continuous growth in your teaching practice
Professional Development:
Engage with nursing and healthcare professionals through advisory boards, site visits, and other professional opportunities
Participate in professional associations and conferences, including presenting when possible
Stay updated on current research in nursing education and experiment with new teaching methods
Complete continuing education courses as outlined by your professional development plan
Requirements:
Licensure: Unencumbered RN license
Education: Doctoral degree (DNP/PhD)
Experience: Minimum of 3 years teaching and developing graduate-level courses
Preferred Certifications: CNE, NE-BC, NI-BC, APHN-BC, and/or AHN-BC
Preferred Experience: Experience with accreditation, site visits, or peer evaluation
